Get ready for the 4020 HF Mailbox

Radio communication isn’t the only channel you need access to in the field. Email is also essential for sending documents and figuring out logistics. With the new Barrett 4020 HF Radio Mailbox, you can now harness HF radio waves to receive and deliver communications. No external computers or controllers are required over the LAN or Wi-Fi connection.

Seamless high speed delivery, wherever you are

With the 4020 HF Radio Mailbox, you get a portal to the internet no matter how little broadbrand infrastructure is present. This is made possible through direct end-to-end mail synchronisation over HF radio.

The 4020 HF Radio Mailbox is also designed with user convenience in mind. The system works seamlessly with smart phone and tablet mail apps, including Exchange, Outlook, Apple Mail, and Gmail, and is also compatible with iOS, Android and Microsoft platforms. No additional user training is necessary, as the experience is the same as sending an email from your phone, tablet, or laptop.

Setting up your system

To ensure best results and full operation, you’ll need to assemble the network around your 4020 HF Radio Mailbox in a specific way. Each HF radio station in the network requires a Barrett 4023 CLOVER Modem. With this modem, and the right waveform with enhanced data throughput rates, HF connections are fully automated. This means that the system can work unattended and perform automatic mail synchronisation at all times of the day.

In addition to a 4023 CLOVER Modem each system will need a:

• 4050 HF SDR Transceiver
• 2G Automatic link establishment (ALE)
• Clover 2500 HF Data modem internal fit
• 4050 to Ethernet Adapter with USB Port

A transceiver should be a part of your existing HF radio system. With these tools, setup is relatively simple, as Remote Control and Configuration Management affords network managers the ability to add/drop stations using (over the air OTAR re-programming) without having to configure individual stations. Multiple configuration options exist, depending on whether you’re setting up a gateway station or a remote station.
